How long will it take?

Our turnaround is usually 1-2 working days from confirmation. However this is dependent on the job and can change over busy periods such as Christmas or during student deadline weeks. Once we have received your finished file and given you an individual quote we can let you know exactly how long it will take.

How much will it cost?

Our costings are based on an hourly rate £40/hr (£30/hr for students) We give everyone an individual quote based on their file and how long it will take to process.

Where are you?

We are based in Burns Street Studios, Glasgow, in the Spier’s Wharf area, just north of the city centre – off Garscube Road.

Can I come in to visit?

In the first instance please get in touch via email or phone. We have a busy workshop and are not always able to take visitors without an appointment.

Can I use the machine myself?

No we are a service so we do all of the machine work for you, you provide the file and we deal with the rest!

Can you deliver?

Yes! We post worldwide and use various couriers as well as the Royal Mail, to ensure it is sent in the most cost effective and reliable way.
If you are based in Glasgow we can send items via bike courier.
For Glasgow student jobs – we generally recommend you come and collect the items yourself, as this is the quickest and most cost effective for you.

What file format should I use?

We primarily use Adobe Illustrator so preferably in .ai Adobe Illustrator CS6 or earlier, or a DXF 2000 or earlier file format is best for us.
We can accept files in DWG, Vector PDF, SVG and EPS file format, but there are sometimes compatibility and scaling issues.

I don’t have that software, can you prepare my file?

Yes we can prepare your file, please provide as much information as possible in your initial email e.g your dimensions, fonts, preferred materials etc. Depending on the complexity of your file we will charge an artwork fee.

What is the biggest size you can cut?

We have the ability to laser cut and engrave up to 1200x900mm, CNC cut and engrave up to 2400x1200mm and cut vinyl up to a width of 1200mm.

What is the thickest material you can cut?

The laser machines can cut up to thicknesses of 9mm poplar ply, 6mm birch ply, 10mm acrylic and 6mm MDF. The CNC can cut up to thicknesses of 25mm of plywood and MDF, and up to 15mm of acrylic.

Can you cut metal?

No, our machines cannot cut metal, we don’t have the capacity for this process at present.
We do have some metal effect engraving laminates which can give a metal effect – these are great for signage.

Can you cut leather?

Yes we can cut real leather. As long as the fabric doesn’t contain PVC, which releases a chlorine gas, we can cut it.
